The Car
The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is a pure racing car, based on the road car version of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS II. The power difference between the two is insignificant, but other than that the differences are big.
Engine
A 3,8 liter 6 cylinder naturally aspirated flat boxer engine, delivering 450 bhp at 7,500 rpm. The engine is weight reduced and specially manufactured. Max revs is at 8,500 rpm.
Transmission
The power transition from engine to the wheels is done via a six speed sequential gearbox. Except reduction in time for gear changes, it prevents the driver from selecting the wrong gear by mistake.
Chassis
The chassis is based on the same technology used in the road cars of Porsche. But for the GT3 Cup model all parts have been optimized for racing. The dampers mounting in the front and rear suspension is taken from the GT3 RSR model. The anti roll bar is of blade type with adjustable height, angles and dampers, the chassis can be adjusted for all types of tracks.
Brakes
The brakes are in classic red color, with six caliper brakes in the front and four caliper brakes in the rear. The brake balance is controllable via controls inside the car.
Exterior
Compared to its predecessor, the new GT3 Cup model has got a larger rear wing and wider body. The rear end of the car is 44 millimeters wider and has got room for wider tires and track width. The rear wing has grown from 1,46 meters to 1,70 meters. All this generates a lot more downforce and produces a racing car that is both faster and more stable than its predecessor.
Interior
A racing seat, a fire extinguisher and a strong roll cage is, briefly summarized, what you will find inside a GT3 Cup car. All important information, like RPM, brake distribution, temperature and more, is gathered in the display ahead of the driver. The start button of the car is, as should in a Porsche, on the left side of the driver.
